Email Spam Solution > Getting folk to use it

How to get folk to use it

1. Cheap

For arguments sake the fees are:

But here's the trick - each time you receive an email, you get a free credit. So if all you ever do is reply to emails, it works out to be almost free. It only costs if you send emails that never get replies.

Give the customers 50 credits when they sign up, and the average user might never spend more than the initial $5

2. Cheaper

Include the option to receive email advertisements. Get credits for reading the ads. That way some people who need extra credits have a free option.

3. Guarantee no spam

Something like "We will pay $100 to anyone who receives un-solicited spam". There might be some problems with folk trying to cheat, but it would make a bold initial incentive.

4. Refer a friend

Get 50 credits for refering a friend.

5. Affiliate program

This is how AltaVista, Amazon and Google kick-started their services. Offer webmasters a $1 for each new customer they refer.

6. Bigger, brighter, better

Include software that outshines current mail clients. It doesn't need to have mail-merge etc - just a better interface that is aimed at personal, one-to-one email relationships.

No more restrictions on the attachment and mailbox sizes that are associated with free, web-based accounts.

And when someone asks you for your email address, you can say it is johnsmith* - and they go huh? isn't it suppposed to be @ something - and you go, no this is new and improved.
