I'm sick of mailing list emails ending up in my spam box, and I can't be bothered white listing them.

So here's a workaround:

Email Spam Solution #2

Utilize the Subject Line to identify friendly emails

Example of the subject line:

Latest Airline Deals from SW [mydogrover8]

mydogrover8 is unique to me, and I chose it. I tell it to my email service, and to mailing lists I subscribe to. If an email comes in from a mailing list that looks like spam to the spam filters, it will still make it to my inbox because my code is in the subject line.

It is impossible for spammers to ever know my code, not cost-efficient for them to try get hold of it, and the code is not a security risk, it is only used for this situation.
