Despite all the optimism I am mustering, I can't help but expect Mr Bush to regain the presidency. Not because he deserves to, and not because he gets the most votes.

He'll get back in because:

- He cheats, and the cheating has already begun in Florida
- There is no way of auditing the current electronic voting
- He has God on his side
- The end of the world is coming
- Deep down he knows that, when the end is nigh, all good Christians will be saved if they control the Middle East
